The stormy season of college applications is upon us, and Austin Bat Cave is here to help high school seniors weather the weather! Perhaps you’re applying to Brandeis and must answer the question of whether you’d rather be raised by robots, dinosaurs, or aliens (the answer to which seems pretty obviously to be aliens—but hey, different strokes!); perhaps you’re applying to Amherst and have to side with either Barbra Streisand (“People who need people / Are the luckiest people in the world”) or Jean-Paul Sartre (“Hell is other people”); or perhaps you’re using the Apply Texas application and need to explain how being in marching band will help you achieve your life goal of becoming our nation’s president (in which case you’ll be very interested in this website).
Whatever your essay-writing situation, ABC can help you write a vivid, coherent, interest-getting essay. We’re offering two workshops—the first on November 6th, and the second on November 25th—in which Cathy Colglazier, our Amazingly Knowledgeable & Top-Notch Professional College Application Essay Educationist/Skipper (official title), will work with students on making their essays more organized, more personalized, and likelier to catch an admission officer’s eye. Students can sign up for one or both workshops, and we encourage registrants to bring to the workshop(s) any materials they’ve already prepared: drafts, outlines, dream journals, and so forth. Workshops will be held at Book People from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Click here to register!
