Do you know a kid age 6–18 who’s hilarious, weird, and/or wise? We need that kid’s help! The annual Home Slice Carnival O’ Pizza is rapidly approaching—if you’re unfamiliar with this wondrous event, read more here. Home Slice Pizza puts on a super-fun, mega-exciting carnival, proceeds of which are donated to Austin Bat Cave’s free writing programs for kids.
We want ABC kids’ writing to be on display at the carnival, so we’re hosting a fortune telling booth where passers-by can pick up fortunes written by kids! Perhaps a girl from our Paredes Middle School program will tell you, “A donut is like the circle of life, except you get to eat it.” Or maybe you’ll be informed by a boy from our fantasy genre writing camp, “You will probably be abducted by aliens, but at least you’ll be having a good hair day.”
We’re putting out an open call to any kids who want to send us fortunes! Kids can write however many fortunes they feel inspired to create, then email them to Program Director Sarah Morrison (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please include the young fortune teller’s name and age. Then, on November 16th, come to the carnival to see what’s in YOUR future!
