All students participating in our 2026 summer camps will have the opportunity to publish their work in our 19th anthology, Portals, which will be released in the Fall of 2027.

This camp is for storytellers who want to create immersive experiences and invite us into their worlds beyond the page. Through performance, interactive art, or digital media, we’ll first consider a message we want to express with words. Then, we’ll determine how to convey that meaning through something tangible. These 3D stories will live as a permanent exhibit on ABC’s Bat Mobile!

Monday – Friday, June 15 – 19, 2026, 12:00pm – 4:00 pm. This workshop location is TBD.

Suggested Donation: $200

Austin Bat Cave has provided free creative writing programs for Central Texas youth since 2007. Today, no student is ever turned away due to lack of funds, but we ask that families consider making a donation when registering for camps. If each of our summer camp students donated $200, Austin Bat Cave could reach more students than ever. This donation goes towards supplies, instructor stipends, anthology printing costs, and other resources ABC needs to continue amplifying young voices. ABC’s actual cost is approximately $7,000 per camp, but we believe that helping students tell their stories and sharing them with the world is priceless.
