In Person Horror Writing Workshop for Adults
$65.00 – $115.00
Join ABC Executive Director Richard Z. Santos for a four week horror writing workshop! The goal is for each participant to leave the workshop with a horror story in progress. We’ll work together to understand what makes something scary, review the psychology of horror, read recent horror fiction and essays on writing horror, and generate ideas with writing prompts and activities.
This workshop will feature a lot of discussion about horror and participants will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their works in progress. No experience necessary. Participants are not expected to come to class with a completed piece or anything at all. We’ll work on that together. A longer, peer-review workshop will be offered later in the spring for participants who want deeper feedback on completed pieces. The reading list will be shared with participants before week one.
The workshop will take place in person at the ABC offices at 6448 E Hwy 290, from 7pm-9pm on Tuesday January 23rd, January 30th, February 6th, and February 13th.
