Metamorphoses: Stories Presented by Karen Russell and Austin Bat Cave

$15.00

Austin Bat Cave and Karen Russell teamed up for a one-night master class for fiction writers. Students read stories of women transforming into deer, children turning into adults, people fitted with robot hands, and more! With her astute sense of craft and an imagination like no other, Karen Russell led students through a series of short generative exercises for an unforgettable night of writing. These stories were collected for this one-of-a-kind collection—our contemporary tweak on Ovid’s Metamorphoses: the Bat Cave Metamorphoses.

This chapbook contains fourteen short stories as well as Karen Russell’s lesson plan and writing prompts for her generative workshop on Metamorphoses that she taught for Austin Bat Cave.

All proceeds from the sale of this chapbook will support Austin Bat Cave’s free writing workshops for kids. You can learn more about our programs here.
