What schools, teachers, and students are saying about Austin Bat Cave
“Because of Austin Bat Cave, students were EXCITED to write! They always looked forward to Friday or Austin Bat Cave Day. We couldn’t have asked for better volunteers, and I’m honestly still amazed we have been as fortunate to work with you all for as long as we have. We can’t say enough good about ABC.”
“At [our school] it’s hard for students to get such personal attention with large classes and teachers are often focused on students who are struggling in some way, so it was wonderful that students who are passionate about writing were able to get more individual attention and focus not just on learning, but expressing themselves and growing into stronger writers.”
“I think I learned how to describe situations more specifically. I wasn’t always confident about my stories before, but now I am because I shared my story and heard everyone else’s.”
“ABC was a great resource to provide a structured, creative outlet for a diverse group of young folks who would not have historically been able to access such a program otherwise.”
